日活!!

The good folks over at Outcast Cinema have posted an announcement about their upcoming Nikkatsu New Action film series called No Borders, No Limits: 1960s Nikkatsu Action Films. There's a lot of info about the films, where they'll be playing, and how YOU can have it play in your home town if you click on the link above (or below) and contact them directly and offer them fistfuls of moolah.

well... ordered the book. still need more books (english or otherwise) of note on areas of japanese cinema. have those two nikkatsu action movie posters books on the way (xmas pressie from my brother... so i have to wait a while) and i've spotted one or two things around, but nothing majorly fascinatingly worthwhile... as for the films, if they were headed to DVD... :)

Thanks, Dan, for the congrats. Appreciated!

Logboy-- boy you said it. I would LOVE for these films to all come out on DVD. But watching some of the Suzuki Seijun stuff last weekend at the Egyptian made me truly appreciate how it is all meant to be enjoyed on the big screen. And MAN these films were shot wide!

I, too, am waiting on the book. I was hoping to go to Texas and watch some of these films in person-- buy the book and get Mark Schilling to sign it. But alas, it's not in the cards right now... <*sniff*>
